Document Scanning

Over the years we have had many clients inquire about how they might economically save photos, letters, legal documents, and other printed materials without the hassel of storage boxes, bulky albums, and all of the space that they require. Then, there is the difficulty of finding something when you need it and the difficulty of sharing the material when desired.

In response to this need, Digital Video Dimensions is offering a document scanning service specifically oriented towards individuals.  We have been in the business of digitizing content for our video productions for many years.  Now we can use our expertise and equipment to help families who are interested in digitizing the material lurking in their closets and storage rooms.

What we can Bulk Scan

  • Paper Documents up to 8.5" x 11"
  • Photos up to 8" x 10"

How we Scan

  • Using professional document scanning equipment, we scan and convert your material into PDF files.
  • Scanning can be done at your residence or taken to our company location for processing.
  • We can scan in black-and-white, color, or a combination of the two.
  • We also offer Optical Character Recognition (OCR), so you can search within the text of your scanned documents.
  • We will create an indexing convention that makes it easy for you to find your files.
  • At your option, scanned material can be retained or shredded and recycled.

To start, we need to review your material and work out a file indexing system with you. If scanning is being done at a residence, we need access to a work table and a power outlet. Any advance organizing that you can do will help speed the process along and lower the cost, such as:

  • Sorting material into categories (by type, year, etc.)
  • Removing staples

The digitized files created by this scanning process can be provided to you on one or more of the following:

  • CD ROM
  • DVD Data Disc
  • Blu-ray Data Disc
  • Hard Drive

Once the process has been completed, you will find that it prevents the permanent loss of your documents due to deterioration over time, saves storage space, allows you to find and share your material.
